What a
beautiful day in the Lord! Are you speaking beautiful words today, every day,
are you speaking blessings or curses? The NKJV in James 3; verse 2 states “For
we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble, in word, he is a
perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.” Verse 5 states “ Even so the
tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a
little fire kindles.” Verse 6 “ And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity.”
Verse 8-10 “ but no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil full of
deadly poison. With it we bless God and Father and with it we curse men, who
have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing
and cursing. Now go to James 1:26 “ If anyone among you thinks he is religious,
and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart this one’s religion
is useless.” In the New Living translation same verses it states,” verse 2 “We
all make many mistakes, but those who control their tongues can also control
themselves in everyway.” Verse 5 “So also the tongue is a small thing, but what
enormous damage it can do. A tiny spark can sat a great forest on fire, verse 6
and the tongue is a flame of fire.” Verse 8-10 states “but no one can tame the
tongue. It is an uncontrollable evil, full of deadly poison. Sometimes it
praises out Lord and Father, and sometimes it breaks into curses against those who
have been made in the image of God. And so blessings and cursing come pouring
out of the same mouth.” Beloved what the tongue speaks is what comes out of
your heart. Is this what you want your wife, your husband, your children to see
and hear? Think before you speak, if you see evil, anger, strife or other such
bad things in your heart search yourself very deeply, repent, pray it out of
your heart, give it to our Lord and Savior, once you have spoken it the words
cannot be taken back it is already out there in the world and by speaking
curses you are condemning yourself, your tongue can bring on sickness and
disease and I know you do not want that! Speak blessings and good will and
remember this from James 3 verse 1 “ not many of you should become teachers in
the church, for we who teach will be judged by God with greater strictness.” I
for one want to be in our Fathers good will, how about you?
